This music video is a visual collage of feeling co-directed by Josie Glassman and myself.

Street Spirit (Fade Out) is a song about emotional paralysis, quiet dread, and the inevitable decay of life - pretty bleak. However, at the end of the song there is a lyric that seems to be a solution for all the despair leading up to it: “immerse your soul in love.”

The theme of love and connection combatting the fear of fading away, along with how our minds drift between the past and future, is explained by remixed, abstracted, and interwoven nostalgic home videos. The mixing and effects to the footage was created using a vintage AV mixer which allowed for a very tactile, raw, and real feeling.
